Streamline your users’ access to your resources. Any catalog record can be on one or more A to Z lists.
A to Z lists can target online journals or books, and/or print reference, and/or A/V collections, or special topic lists that you create!
With A to Z, you no longer need to provide separate links to collections of online resources on your website.
Resources provided by various publishers, vendors, and aggregators can be placed into one all-encompassing list of titles and subjects. Display A to Z with a click from the OPAC or
from your library home page.
Enrich your collection with an unlimited number of links: to e-resources, web sites, in house documents, etc. Easily integrate your electronic resources from a variety of aggregators regardless of the data source (spreadsheet, MARC bibs, other). Incorporate content into your CyberTools online catalog portal from OCLC, ProQuest, DOAJ, Highwire, EBSCO, plus a large range of health science resources such as MDConsult, NursingConsult, PubMedCentral, Rittenhouse R2, Teton Systems/STAT!Ref, Access Medicine, and more.
Our tools automatically repair data from vendors that are less than perfect. Global editing tools make managing e-resources in your online catalog fast and easy. URL checkers make sure that links are functional.
A suite of cataloging and authority tools keeps things easy even for the non-cataloger.
You select how collections share information in independent and union catalog searches. The simple consortia choice: affiliated libraries share a bibliographic record, while managing unique patrons and holdings.
Easily tie additional bibliographic material to:
- chapters in a book;
- articles in a journal;
- entire journal supplements.
for superior indexing, accurate retrieval, and more detailed presentations.
A rich array of patron, inventory, and system management tools give you complete flexibility in setting and updating your policies. A simple, intuitive interface makes training your staff easy. Multi-tasking staff can access multiple functions at once.
• Loan, return, renew, hold, trace, and recall items, overrides, internal circulation.
• Automatic overdue and fines alerts and other notices via e-mail, postcard, and/or letter.
• Patron Management: library controls whether Patrons update their own records, change passwords, set number of days before due-date reminders.
• Inventory Management: bar code by book, serial issue, audiovisual, temporaries, etc.
• System Management Reporting. Dozens of activity reports help you manage your library operations. Export your data to Microsoft Excel and format your own reports. Or, use Crystal Reports, a popular ad hoc reporting tool, to make your own custom reports; we've even created some new reports for you using this tool.
The CyberTools OPAC is compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
CyberTools markets your resources elegantly, delivering fast, complete, reliable search results.
Summary search results prompt user for detailed options. Patrons can browse "shelves". Search results can be sorted like grocery lists, by short or full title, author, call number, material type, latest issue, or location. Display, print, and email results in these formats:
For libraries that use the National Library of Medicine Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), patrons may explode the entire MeSH tree! Users can view the search tree, and check their understanding of terms by viewing current NLM definitions with a single click, for full-context research. Refine searches with MeSH qualifiers. Explosions are complete: optionally include ascending, descending, and See Related terms!
A built-in link resolver enables persistent links to your collection. Your collection can be referenced by EBSCOHost, Ovid, PubMed LInkOUT, in correspondences, and with any A-Z system. Or, use our JavaScript template to instantly add a keyword search window to your catalog - directly on your homepage!
CyberTools comes with a comprehensive suite of standard reports. Plus, you can export to Excel for your own formatting. And we make it easy for you to perform ad hoc, custom reporting with popular, off-the-shelf packages such as Crystal Reports. We help you with a step-by-step Ad Hoc Reporting Tutorial and demonstration reports.
Manage both library-owned and external, non-cataloged materials such as instructor's personal books or papers. Reserves are seamlessly integrated with circulation loans, returns, holds, fines, etc. Students can access the reserves lists directly from your home page or via the OPAC to check availability or place holds. Library staff can easily move materials from the regular collection to reserves before the class begins, and then back to the regular collection. A course reserves list can be re-used after the course has been completed. Available 2009 and included with base CyberTools for Libraries system.
Save time with smart serials check-in, routing, claiming, bindery, reporting, and integrating with online resources.
Serial Titles are added easily, and global editing capabilities make updates easy. A copy is tied to individual titles, and serial issues are checked in to specified copies. You have the detailed information you need to effectively and efficiently manage your print and online titles.
Issue Check-in. Check in expected issues, supplements, parts, or others issues, including a range of issues.
Claims. Serial Claims are automatically triggered at check-in. A Late Warning is issued for a journal that never started after set-up, or simply stopped new issues.
Routing. Distribute and track your materials to patrons using a wide range of parameters.
Bindery. Create your own bindery rules, and CyberTools updates all associated records, including work lists, shipments, and availability status in the OPAC. The OPAC reflects the status of items throughout the Bindery cycle. Patrons know whether an issue is on the shelf or at the Bindery.
Schedule the use of your books, DVDs, conference rooms, video equipment, and other resources.
Generate daily pull lists of items scheduled for a specific day, so you’re ready when your patrons arrive. Integrated with Circulation and Cataloging, avoiding double entry of materials and patrons. Available 2009 and included as part of the base CyberTools for Libraries system.
CyberTools for Libraries supports Z39.50 version 3, the standard for bibliographic information retrieval among disparate library automation systems. The CyberTools Z39.50 server meets the Bath and Texas profiles: any Z39.50 client can access this server. For example, a librarian in your consortium could search your catalog with his or her favorite Z39.50 client, such as BookWhere or EndNote.
