MARC Bibliographic Batch Control

The first line describes the batch just exported. The batch number is listed first, followed by the date the batch was exported. EXPORT HOLD is the status of the export. A batch in HOLD status allows for further editing. Notice underneath the Batch # is a message: MARC #71763 has an undesired local tag 906. This MARC tag includes information pertaining to the library from which the data has been exported. Choose the function [Remove Undesired Local Tags] to erase this irrelevant information from the MARC record. If other messages appear underneath the message box, choose the apppropriate function.

Now the bibs are on your computer, but not yet in your catalog. The bibs do not become part of your catalog until you choose the function [Update the Catalog with Batch].
