Recall
Notices may not be added or deleted but they may be modified with care. If the postcard format is used, then the messages should be short. Most libraries should only edit the text of the messages, and nothing else.
Function [Messages Editor] establishes the individual notices accordingly:
- message title, e.g., "First Overdue Notice";
- free text messages, e.g.,
"Please return the following overdue item(s)."
- if this message is an overdue notice, then specify how
many days after the item is due that the message should
be sent;
- default formats, i.e., postcard or letter;
- number of items per form, e.g., 3 for postcard, 8 for
letters;
- forms per page, e.g., 2 for the Avery 4x6 postcard;
- maximum number of times to send a notice;
- once the maximum number of times to send a notice is
reached, then determine which notice should be sent next,
e.g., First Overdue specifies Second Overdue, the Second
specifies the Third, and the Third specifies Collection
for Long Overdue which is a dunning letter.
Notice "Courtesy Advanced Due Reminder" is sent by e-mail only,
and only if the patron has an e-mail address and has a value
greater than 0 in the Patron field Advance Due Reminder.
