9.3.1 Field 1 Function Keys
9.3.2 Field 2 Serials Utility Functions Menu:
Purpose: To select a Claims or Late Warnings function.
Function [Process Claims] collects the claimed items and puts them on Claim Work Lists based on how many claim dates are associated with the item records. You must run this function before any other claims function. Once you have completed a round of claims process, then sometime soon thereafter restart the cycle with this function.
Function [Claims Work Lists and Letters] prints Claims Work Lists or Letters.
Function [Display Journal Claim File] lists only the claimed items associated with a title.
Function [Delete Claim] removes a claimed item from the claim file. Once deleted, the claim will not appear on any Claims Work List.
Function [Default Late Warning Values by Frequency] establishes by serial frequency the elapse period that triggers when a Copy is late.
Function [Process Late Warnings] compares the current date with the sum of the last received date for the Copy plus the number of late warning days for the title's frequency. If the resulting date is less than today, the title is considered late and a late warning will be generated.
Function [Late Warnings Work Lists and Letters] prints the late warning work lists or vendor letters.
Function [Delete Late Warning] deletes Late Warning entries for a title before printing the vendor letter.
Function [Letters Headers and Footers Editor] manages the text that appears before (the Headers) and after (the Footers) the list of claims or stopped titles on a vendor letter.
Function [Help] lists many different options for Help.
Function [Quit] will return processing to the Serials Management Main Menu.
